Strata Safety Products, LLC announces delivery of its Emergency Refuge Chambers.  Steel Walk-In Chambers and Portable, Inflatable Chambers are being delivered to mines nationwide, designed to meet the new state and federal requirements of providing 96 hours of breathable air to miners trapped underground.  NIOSH has performed evaluations on all Refuge Chambers originally approved by the State of West Virginia, and Strata successfully passed all evaluations and met all requirements. Longwall Associates, Inc., Chilhowie, VA, has a multi-million contract to deliver an OEM face conveyor system to SAADEC Daning Mine in China, comprising the AFC, stage loader, crusher and belt tail piece.  The right hand face conveyor consists of 1000 mm raceway x 1750 mm long line pans and includes LA’s Super Gear Rack haulage shearer haulage system and the LA/Voith AFC Soft Start System.  The face conveyor will be outfitted with a line of gearboxes, the LAEP 40 Series and the LABP 40 Series.  The stage loader is 34mm twin-inboard 1220 mm raceway and includes LA’s LABP 20 Series gearbox.  This sale marks the second OEM system designed and manufactured by LA for SAADEC Daning Mine.  Contact Shelley Campbell at 276/646-2004.

 

Liebherr Construction Equipment Co., Newport News, VA, showcased its L528 and L550 wheel loaders and A 9000C LItronic wheel excavator recently at the world of concrete show.  The Liebherr driveline combined with low operating weight and high tipping load results in up to 25-percent less fuel consumption than conventionally-driven wheel loaders.  Comfortable, ultra-modern cab.  Equipped with the 2plus2 gearbox, so tractive force and speed are automatically adjusted to the requirements without the driver having to shift.   The A 900 C is the latest offering in wheeled excavators, weighing 39,500 pounds and powered by a purpose-built Liebherr D-924 Tier III compliant diesel engine producing 118 hp at 1800 rpm.  Designed electronics control all engine functions.  Call Tim Doucette at 757/928-8746.

Pennsylvania Crusher, Broomall, PA, has delivered a 100,000+ pound Mountaineer Sizer to a West Virginia Coal mine.  From 40+ inch run-of-mine coal input directly from a longwall mining system, the Sizer is designed to produce 12”x0 product and deliver 7,000 tons per hour.  The relatively small footprint, low headroom, commercially available component pieces and a minimum number of custom pieces make the Sizer maintenance friendly and allow for placement on the surface or underground.  Has four retractable wheels allowing it to be rolled out from under the feed point for servicing.  The 800 hp electric motor, fluid coupling, speed reducer and link gears are all mounted within the sizer on a common frame.  Call Theresa Antell at 856/256-3014.

Komatsu America, Peoria, IL, will produce 930E-4 electric drive trucks at its manufacturing operation in Peoria that will be equipped with the FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System, an autonomous navigation system that allows the trucks to operate without drivers.  Rio Tinto will receive the first autonomous truck for its Pilbara iron ore operation in Western Australia. Trucks equipped with FrontRunner can navigate a complex mining environment and deliver a 320 short ton payload of overburden without drivers.  The truck combines a 2,700 horsepower engine with an advanced AC electric drive system to move its 1.1 million pound GVW up to 40 MPH. Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, IL, introduces the Cat 854K wheel Dozer that features a new engine with ACERT technology, advanced cooling system and enhanced operator station.  854K uses a Cat 32 engine and a new radiator with improved heat transfer capabilities.  A variable speed demand fan aids efficiency.  Larger cab includes a trainer’s seat and a new low-effort joystick controls all blade functions.  It is the largest wheel dozer in the Caterpillar line and is engineered for demanding work in large dozing applications where mobility increases productivity.  The 12-cylinder engine is a V configuration with displacement of 1,960 cubic inches.  The Cat 32 engine is clean, quiet, fuel efficient and compliant with US EPA Tier 2 standards and EU Stage IIa standards.  Call Johnny Campos at 309/675-4693.

Horizon Conveyor Equipment, United Kingdom, introduces the “RapidWinch” – a one-stop device that can be used in nearly all conveyor maintenance situations.  RapidWinch is a light-weight, compact unit that can be used in a wide range of conditions—whether it is to change a single roller or carry out more complex work in confined spaces.  HCE has adapted conventional Belt Lifter designs to create a two-part system that bolts easily to conveyor roller frames and uses high-tensile straps to lift the belt.
