     Like it or not, coal person or not, coal is the energy king.  And coal will reign as energy king for many years to come, beginning with a dynamic 2007.  That’s the consensus among coal experts.  Despite a battery of scud-like negativity from ill-advised coal antagonists, the king will prevail.  Actually, it’s pretty near a “take it or leave it” situation.  Energy enthusiasts are running low on options.  Sure, we might get a thimble full of power from wind, water and other inconsequential sources, but it’ll never be enough

Rescue Man: Danny Knotts
By the time Danny Knott had made the eight-hour drive to Harlan County, Kentucky, last May it was too late for him and the other members of the mine rescue team from West Kentucky to be of much help.  By the time we got there, they were already bringing the bodies out,” Knott recalled. Five miners had been killed and one injured due to an early morning explosion at Darby Mine No. 1 in Harlan County.
